Cybersecurity has become a daily concern for mobile users and businesses alike. Phishing links arrive through messaging apps, scam calls attempt to extract sensitive information, and malicious websites appear in search results that look completely legitimate. The challenge is not only stopping these threats – it is doing so in a way that is simple for users.
One Montenegro has taken a major step in addressing that challenge. The operator has launched SigurOne, a new cybersecurity service powered by Whalebone Aura, bringing network-level protection to customers across the country.
The SigurOne service is available to the entire One Montenegro customer base – including prepaid, postpaid, and business customers and can be easily activated through the Moj One self-care application. Customers can also receive additional support and information through the contact center, retail channels, and dedicated business sales representatives.

A security layer built directly into the network
Unlike traditional cybersecurity tools that rely on antivirus software or separate mobile apps, SigurOne operates directly within the telecom network.
The technology behind the service, Whalebone Aura, protects users at the DNS layer - the stage where internet requests are translated into the addresses that devices connect to. By inspecting these requests, the network can block access to malicious domains before a harmful connection is established.
In practice, this means threats can be stopped before they reach the user's device. If someone clicks a malicious link received via SMS, email, or messaging apps, the connection is intercepted and blocked automatically.
Just as importantly, the protection works without requiring downloads, updates, or configuration. Once the service is activated, it applies to every connected device using the network - smartphones, laptops, tablets, and loT devices.
“Today, almost everyone is online, while cyber threats are becoming increasingly sophisticated and difficult to recognize. With the introduction of SigurOne, our goal is not only to protect our customers from potentially malicious content, but also to raise awareness about the importance of online security. We wanted to create a simple and accessible service that requires no technical knowledge yet still provides effective protection and helps customers better understand cybersecurity risks. The collaboration with Whalebone was highly efficient from the start – from technical integration to go-to-market preparation – and together we created a service that strengthens the safety of our customers while expanding the digital value we deliver.”
Why network-based security matters for telcos
The launch of SigurOne reflects a broader shift in how telecom operators approach cybersecurity.
Traditional security solutions place the responsibility on the user - install software, maintain updates, and react when alerts appear. For most people, that process creates friction and leads to low adoption.
Network-embedded protection changes the equation. By operating directly within the operator's infrastructure, services like Aura provide protection automatically and at scale. Telcos that deploy such solutions can achieve adoption rates above 50 percent, while also increasing customer loyalty and generating new revenue streams.
For operators, the model turns cybersecurity from a support cost into a service that strengthens their digital portfolio.
With this launch, One Montenegro joins more than 400 communication service providers worldwide who have chosen Whalebone Aura to enhance customer trust and establish themselves as safer and more reliable connectivity providers in their markets.
