Mobile devices have become the primary gateway to online services. Banking, shopping, messaging, and work communication often happen on a single device that stays connected throughout the day. This constant connectivity also increases exposure to online threats. Phishing links arrive through messaging apps, fraudulent websites imitate trusted brands, and malicious ads redirect users to harmful pages.
Stopping these threats is only part of the challenge. Security must also be simple enough that customers actually use it.
ZET-MOBILE, a mobile operator in Tajikistan, has addressed both aspects with the launch of ZET-Security, a new cybersecurity service powered by Whalebone Aura. The solution brings network-level protection directly into ZET-MOBILE ’s customers.
Once activated, the service provides automatic protection against malicious websites, phishing attempts, and other online threats without requiring customers to install applications or manage software.

Protection built directly into the network
Traditional cybersecurity tools rely on antivirus software or dedicated mobile applications installed on a device. While effective, these solutions depend on users taking action – downloading the app, enabling protection, and keeping the software updated.
Thanks to Whalebone, this Tajik mobile operator takes a different approach.
The ZET-Security service operates within the telecom network itself using Whalebone Aura, a DNS-level security technology. Every time a device attempts to open a website, it first sends a DNS request that translates a domain name into the address of the server hosting that site.
Aura analyzes these requests in real time. If the requested domain is known to host malware, phishing campaigns, or other malicious content, the connection is blocked before the device can reach it.
For the user, the process remains invisible. If someone clicks a harmful link received through SMS, email, or messaging applications, the network prevents the connection automatically.
Because the protection sits inside the network infrastructure, it applies to all connected devices using the ZET-MOBILE network, including smartphones, tablets, laptops, and IoT devices.

Security without complexity
A common barrier to cybersecurity adoption is complexity. Many solutions require downloads, configuration, and regular updates, which discourages users who simply want their connection to work safely.
ZET-Security removes these obstacles – once activated, the service operates automatically. There is no software to install, no updates to manage, and no impact on device performance or battery life. Protection applies immediately and continues running in the background.
For customers, the experience remains unchanged – except that dangerous websites and phishing domains are blocked before they can cause harm.
A new role for telcos
The launch of ZET-Security reflects a broader evolution in how telecom operators approach cybersecurity.
For years, digital safety depended largely on tools installed on individual devices. That model placed responsibility on the user and often resulted in limited adoption.
Network-based security changes that dynamic. By embedding protection directly into the operator’s infrastructure, threats can be blocked at scale and without user intervention.
For telecom providers, this approach also expands their digital services portfolio. Security becomes a value-added offering that strengthens customer trust while creating new revenue opportunities.
Strengthening safer connectivity
With the launch of ZET-Security, ZET-MOBILE joins a growing group of communication service providers that integrate cybersecurity directly into their networks through Whalebone Aura.
More than 400 communication service providers worldwide use Aura to protect their customers from phishing, malware, and other online threats while maintaining a simple user experience.
For ZET-MOBILE customers, the result is straightforward: a safer internet connection that works automatically, without requiring any additional software or technical knowledge.
